Entering a building project with little or no experience can be a daunting task. That's why we've developed a clear, structured process in line with RIBA to guide you seamlessly from the initial concept to a stunning finished space.
Wall Architecture: How We Work
Stage 0: Meeting You & Project Kick-Off
It all starts with a conversation! Here, we get to know your ideas, budget, and aspirations for your project. Once we're on the same page, you can formally appoint Wall Architecture as your architectural partner.
Stage 1: Surveying & Setting the Stage
This stage involves a thorough survey of your existing site or property. We gather all the necessary information to ensure a design that integrates with its surroundings. This stage also kicks off the official project timeline.
Stage 2: Exploring Possibilities - Design Options
We'll present you with a range of design options (A, B, C etc.), each tailored to your requirements and preferences. We'll discuss the values of each option and work collaboratively to refine your vision.
Stage 3: Finalising Your Ideas - The Official Design
Based on your feedback, we'll develop your chosen design option further. This stage offers the final design that captures the project brief. Planning permission in Bristol is often required, and we'll handle the entire application process with the Local Authority.
Stage 4a: Construction Drawings - Technical & Detailed Plans
Now, it's time to translate your design into reality. We'll produce detailed construction drawings that act as the manual for how to build your project. These drawings will also be submitted to Building Control for approval and will be used to obtain quotations from building contractors.
Stage 4b: Tendering - Obtaining Builder Quotes
There are two ways we can approach this stage. We can manage the tendering process, by collecting quotes from qualified builders. Alternatively, we can provide you with a shortlist of reputable builders, allowing you to select and manage the tender process yourself.
Stage 5: Constructing Your Project
With all the plans in place, construction begins! We'll maintain close collaboration with the builder, ensuring the project adheres to the agreed-upon design and timelines.
Stage 6: Welcome Home - Project Completion
The most significant element of the process - the completion! We'll vigilantly inspect the finished project, ensuring everything aligns with the plans and specifications. Once complete, you can step into your new home.
